Review by hotel critic
Tucked away in a vibrant area of Bangkok, my recent stay at the Spades provided an illuminating culinary experience. Although the staff had limited English, their willingness to assist via Google Translate was commendable; they truly seemed to care. The rooms were clean and fashionable, offering all necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The highlight for me was the restaurant. While the breakfast menu remained the same over five days, I found delight in the seasonal stew with rice-simple yet flavorful. The craft beer selection in the evening allowed for a relaxing end to the day. Not having a varied breakfast was a bit underwhelming, especially for a foodie like me! The nearby street markets and restaurants, particularly the night market just 650 feet away, offered a thrilling local experience, allowing me to indulge in authentic Thai cuisine. The proximity to BTS Ratchathewi station was also a significant plus, making it convenient to explore the city. The Spades presents an interesting mix of comfort and foodie adventure.
